Description: Officer Gillespie was shot when he and his partner stopped a vehicle that had been carjacked. As the officers approached the vehicle, three men jumped from car and began shooting. Officer Gillespie was shot in the chest and died at the hospital. Officer Terrence McAllister was also wounded but survived.
