Description: Deputy Goble was accidentally shot while at the county jail. Deputy Goble and Jailer Felix Parlier had just returned from the raid of a moonshine distillery. Deputy Clerk Ned Triplett offered to clean Jailer Parlier's mud-splattered gun. As Ned Triplett handled the .32 Smith and Wesson, the gun discharged, striking Deputy Goble in the head. Deputy Goble was transported to the hospital where he died the next day. Ned Triplett was cleared of any wrongdoing (friendly fire).
