Description: Town Marshal Geisler was struck on the back of the head when he ordered a group of drunk and disorderly men to disperse. Marshal Geisler had issued a warning to the men earlier that evening. When he approached the men a second time, he was struck from behind and fell unconscious. He died of a brain concussion the next day. His assailant was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
