Description: On May 8, 2006, Master Police Officer Michael Garbarino was shot when a suspect opened fire on him and other officers in the parking lot of the Sully District Station in Chantilly, Virginia. The suspect had carjacked a van moments earlier and drove into the police station's back parking lot. Armed with an AK-47 rifle, the suspect shot Officer Garbarino five times before fatally shooting Detective Vicky Armel. Officer Garbarino died nine days later.
