Description: On November 4, 1961, Officer Goldak was writing a traffic citation when he was struck by a drunk driver. Officer Goldak suffered a fractured skull, leg and hip, a ruptured bladder and numerous lacerations. Officer Goldak was unable to return to work and medically retired from the department. Officer Goldak was hospitalized for at least two years and operated on numerous times. Officer Goldak died on September 1, 1964 of kidney failure.
