Description: Chief Garcia was shot and killed after he had stopped a 67-year-old man for a traffic violation. Chief Garcia noticed that the suspect driver had failed to turn on his headlights when he initiated the traffic stop. The suspect exited his car and immediately fired three shots into the police cruiser. Chief Garcia got out of his car and returned fire, killing the suspect. Chief Garcia was transported to a local hospital where he pronounced dead on arrival.
