Description: Patrolman Griffin was shot after leaving a local restaurant. Two couples that lived on either side of the yard in which Patrolman Griffin was shot said that they heard what sounded to be a stick-up, and then shots fired. Police squads arrived at the scene and found Patrolman Griffin with a very weak pulse. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Twenty-three people were arrested and questioned, but it was not until several years later that a suspect was charged with Patrolman Griffin's murder.
