Description: Detective Goe and six other railroad detectives were conducting surveillance in the Dearborn railroad yards near Detroit, Michigan based on the discovery of a hidden pile of stolen tires. Four men were observed approaching the area. Detective Goe commanded them to halt and the suspects opened fire. Detective Goe was mortally wounded. Two of the suspects were caught the following night.
