Description: Patrolman Griffiths was escorting a suspect, who had slashed another man with a razor, to jail. The suspect broke free and ran, with Patrolman Griffiths in pursuit. The suspect produced a pistol and shot Patrolman Griffiths twice in the torso, then once in the head, killing him instantly. The suspect was shot and arrested at his home later that day by lawmen.
