Description: Attempting other arrest (excludes burglary, robbery and drug-related arrests). Patrolman Gudehus was patrolling his post when he noticed two young men and a girl acting in a disorderly manner. The officer ordered the suspects to move on but the suspects cursed and threatened him. When the officer attempted to place the suspects under arrest, three other men came from behind the building. Patrolman Gudehus was beaten with his own club, and shot five times with his own weapon. He was found by a local citizen and transported to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries three days later.
