Description: Special Officer Garrett was struck by a vehicle as he directed traffic around a train that was unloading circus equipment at the rail yard in Wichita Falls, Texas. The driver fled the scene but was apprehended and charged with failure to stop and render aid. Officer Garrett was transported to the hospital with a broken back and severed spinal cord. Officer Garret died the next day from his injuries.
