Description: Corrections Officer Heddy suffered a fatal heart attack at Escambia County Corrections after responding to a suicidal inmate who attempted to hang himself with a bedsheet. Officer Heddy called for assistance while he struggled with the inmate. After subduing the inmate, he collapsed. Other officers initiated CPR but were unable to revive him and Officer Heddy was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
