Description: Patrolman Hellis was shot as he and fellow officers responded to a domestic disturbance call where a man was beating his wife. The suspect ran down an alleyway with the officers in pursuit. The suspect turned and fatally shot Patrolman Hellis. The suspect fled the scene but returned home two days later and committed suicide.
