Description: Sheriff Head, assisted by two deputies, went to a residence to answer a call and came upon the homeowner threatening to kill his family. As Sheriff Head stepped out of his cruiser, he was shot in the heart and died instantly. Deputy Grover McNabb returned fire, killing Sheriff Head's assailant.
