Description: Deputy Sheriff Harris was shot and killed while tracking a burglary suspect in the desert near Fredonia, Arizona. Deputy Harris had begun a foot pursuit of the suspect in Kane County when the suspect fled across the border into Arizona. The suspect, who had stored supplies and weapons in various locations in the desert, fatally shot Deputy Harris with a high powered rifle. The suspect was later captured while attempting to break into a home.
