Description: Deputy Sheriff Holder was shot as he questioned a group of seven young men regarding money stolen from a lady's purse. The men cursed at Deputy Holder and attacked him. One of the men drew a .38 pistol and shot Deputy Holder in the chest. Deputy Holder died at the scene. His assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
