Description: Officer Harbison was stabbed to death at the Menard Correctional Center. When Officer Harbison turned the crank to let the inmates back into their cells, an inmate charged him and stabbed him a dozen times with a shank. A second guard was also injured but survived. The inmate was convicted of murder and sentenced to death, but later committed suicide in his jail cell.
