Description: Officer Hicks was off-duty attending a party when a woman recognized him as a police officer and began arguing with him. The argument led to a physical altercation with the woman's boyfriend. According to the department, "A physical assault occurred, and the officer went outside to his private vehicle and retrieved his police issued equipment (radio and service revolver). As officer was returning to the house, he was gunned down and fatally wounded." Officer Hicks was shot twice with an AK-47 Assault Rifle and died at the scene.
