Description: Officer Hardy died after being struck by a motorist on Independence Parkway. Officer Hardy was performing traffic enforcement duties on the parkway and was attempting to stop a traffic violator. While in pursuit, Officer Hardy entered an intersection and was struck by another vehicle. Officer Hardy was thrown from his motorcycle into oncoming traffic. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
