Description: Patrolman Hughes, accompanied by his fellow officers, was called to break up a fight at the Pleasureland Bar. While subduing the brawlers, Patrolman Hughes was thrown to the ground, kicked in the abdomen, rib cage, and face by several of the people involved in the fight. He was advised not to return to work until further notice. Patrolman Hughes remained under a doctor's care and died of internal hemorrhaging seven weeks later.
