Description: Major Humphrey suffered a fatal heart attack while in pursuit of a bank robber. The Admiralty Bank had been robbed at gunpoint and law enforcement officers were in pursuit of the suspect on US-1 and gave chase for over 20 miles. Major Humphrey joined in the pursuit behind the lead car but then abruptly stopped and pulled over just as the suspect crashed his vehicle. Major Humphrey was found slumped behind the wheel of his patrol car and was transported to the hospital where he died.
