Description: Officer Hernandez was killed in a single-car accident while attempting to avoid an accident. Officer Hernandez was traveling westbound on the Northern State Parkway when another vehicle crossed into his lane. Officer Hernandez swerved to avoid an accident but lost control of his cruiser. His cruiser hit the guardrail then a tree, trapping Officer Hernandez inside. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
