Description: Struck by vehicle (officer was outside of vehicle when struck). Chief Hafer was killed when a tractor-trailer loaded with steel rolled over his body. The truck had stopped in a sharp bend of the road with its wheels partially on the highway creating a safety hazard. Chief Hafer ordered the driver to pull his truck up the road and out of the curve. As the driver pulled away, the trailer behind the cab knocked Chief Hafer to the ground and rolled over him.
