Description: Officer Hilton arrested a suspect for theft and was escorting him to jail when an acquaintance of the suspect approached them and demanded his release. The man shot Officer Hilton at point-blank range, killing him instantly. The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended. The suspect was convicted of murder and executed by hanging.
