Description: Officer Hass had escorted a suspect back to his house so that the man could get proper identification. Upon turning to ask a witness in the rooming house a question, Officer Haas was shot three times; in the chest, head, and arm. He was announced Dead Upon Arrival at the hospital. A nation-wide search ensued for the murderer and was later captured and sentenced to death
