Description: Night Police Officer Herrmann was struck as he attempted to stop a speeding motorist. Officer Herrmann was on foot patrol when he observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit and flagged the vehicle by displaying his firearm. The driver did not see the officer' badge and thought it was a stick-up. Officer Herrmann was struck by the vehicle and sustained a fractured skull. Officer Herrmann was transported to the hospital where he died two days later.
