Description: Patrolman Ham was killed in an automobile crash as he and Patrolman Bert Hatch were in pursuit of a speeding motorist. Their patrol car was struck at an intersection by another vehicle that had ignored the red light. Three of the occupants in the car also died. Patrolman Hatch sustained multiple injuries but survived the incident.
