Description: Deputy Constable Hardin was shot when he and two police officers went to a saloon to investigate the violation of the Liquor Sunday closing law. As Deputy Hardin stepped into the saloon, the owner shot him in the abdomen. Deputy Hardin returned fire and killed his assailant. Deputy Hardin died of his injuries the next day.
