Description: Sergeant Hernandez succumbed to injuries sustained a week earlier in an automobile accident while responding to a call for assistance. With his emergency lights flashing, Sergeant Hernandez's patrol car collided with a tractor trailer at an intersection, and he was pinned in the vehicle until emergency personnel freed him. Sergeant Hernandez was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition and died a week later.
