Description: Attempting other arrest (excludes burglary, robbery and drug-related arrests). Sheriff Hoskins was attempting to arrest suspect who had been drinking in public and was armed with a six shooter. The suspect resisted arrest and shot the sheriff once in the abdomen. Sheriff Hoskins was able to return fire killing the suspect. The sheriff died ten days later from his injuries.
