Description: Police Officer Hackney was shot after he arrested a suspect for disorderly conduct and was escorting him to jail. Friends of the suspects interfered and shot Officer Hackney in the leg. Officer Hackney was transported home and a doctor was summoned. Officer Hackney died of his injuries 10 days later. His assailant was convicted of second degree murder.
