Description: Deputy Sheriff Hargis was shot as he and two other deputies attempted to serve a search warrant for the illegal manufacture of liquor. Deputy Hargis was shot as they approached the residence and died of his injuries several hours later. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to 99 years in prison.
