Description: Deputy Sheriff Harmon was fatally shot as he and a private detective placed an AWOL soldier under arrest for desertion. The brother of the soldier pulled a gun and fired, killing both men. The brother then fled the scene with the soldier. The soldier was arrested two years later and received a 14 year prison sentence. His brother was not apprehended.
