Description: Officer Hunt led a posse in pursuit of a fugitive from an insane asylum. They spotted the suspect near Steckel Park. As Officer Hunt slid down the embankment, the suspect fired, striking him in the thigh. The bullet passed through his groin and exited Officer Hunt?s buttock. Officer Hunt returned fire, striking the suspect in his head, killing him. Officer Hunt died of a stroke a month later caused by a blood clot from the bullet wound.
