Description: Deputy Sheriff Hazeltine and Deputy Warden Julius Salmonson (Panel 21-W: 28) drowned when their boat capsized as they searched for poachers who had illegally placed fishing nets in White Lake. Earlier that day, Deputy Salmonson had discovered several illegal nets and cut them loose. Deputy Salmonson and Deputy Hazeltine returned to the lake later that evening by boat in the hopes of catching the poachers in the act.
