Description: Deputy Sheriff Hill was severely beaten when he responded to a domestic disturbance call and attempted to take the suspect into custody. The suspect grabbed an old rifle barrel and struck Deputy Hill with it even after Deputy Hill shot him. The suspect was subdued by bystanders. Deputy Hill was transported to the hospital where he died later that evening. The suspect was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
