Description: Patrolman Hoey was struck by a vehicle while on mounted patrol. The horse, startled by an automobile horn, bucked and threw Patrolman Hoey into the path of the oncoming vehicle which was unable to stop. Patrolman Hoey died of internal injuries the next day.
