Description: Sheriff Hunter was shot when he answered a domestic disturbance call where a suspect had murdered his wife. When Sheriff Hunter arrived at the residence, the suspect fired through the door and shot Sheriff Hunter in the abdomen. Sheriff Hunter was transported to the hospital where he died a few hours later. The suspect was convicted of murder and executed via the electric chair.
