Description: Marshal Henderson encountered two Soldiers from Fort Sill Army Base who were drunken and disorderly. Marshal Henderson ordered the men to leave the city and return to the base. The Soldiers left, but returned later that night. Marshal Henderson arrested the two Soldiers for being intoxicated in public. Another army Soldier went to the jail and demanded his comrades be released. When the Marshal Henderson refused, the soldier shot him. Marshal Henderson spent three days in the local hospital before succumbing to his injuries.
