Description: Detective Sergeant Hoopes collapsed and died due to a heart attack while participating in the department's physical fitness training program at the Casino Gaming Bureau in Atlantic City, NJ. Sergeant Hoopes was running outside for approximately 45 minutes when he suddenly collapsed. First aid was rendered and Sergeant Hoopes was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
