Description: Deputy Sheriff Hamons was shot as he attempted to serve a summons to a suspect to appear in court. The suspect refused the summons, pulled a gun and shot Deputy Hamons several times. Deputy Hamons returned fire, mortally wounding the suspect. Deputy Hamons died of his injuries the next day.
