Description: Patrolman Hays and Patrolman Robert Rowland were shot by suspects who had stolen a vehicle. One of suspects, who served six years in prison for his involvement with this incident, was responsible for the deaths of Deputy Melvin Fleming and Officer Charles Mundy on June 25, 1942.
