Description: Constable Hopson was shot and killed as he and Sheriff W.O. Williams investigated a burglary at a hardware store. Sheriff Williams went to the back of the residence and Constable Hopson covered the front door. The suspect fatally shot Constable Hopson as he entered the building. Sheriff Williams was wounded in the arm but recovered.
