Description: Officer Hurley died when the bomb he was attempting to disarm exploded. The suspect had planted the bomb to kill his own father but the bomb fell from the car where it was planted. The bomb exploded, killing Officer Hurley. Officer Francis Foley was also injured but survived. The man who planted the bomb received a 12 year sentence and the man who made the bomb received a sentence of 37 years in prison.
