Description: Night Officer Herzog was walking his beat when he slipped on the icy sidewalk and fell against a fire hydrant. Officer Herzog suffered a fractured arm and multiple fractured ribs. Although wounded, he completed his rounds, then went home where he collapsed. Officer Herzog was transported to the hospital where he died of bronchial pneumonia two days later.
