Description: City Marshal Hammond died while attempting to pickup an arrest warrant at a local courthouse. Because the front door was locked, Marshal Hammond knocked on the second story window of the courthouse apartment where Sheriff Conn resided. As Marshal Hammond descended the stairs, he fell 20 feet from the balcony to his death.
