Description: Officer Holmes was shot and wounded responding to a "man with a gun" call. The mentally deranged sniper was shooting at schoolchildren. Officer Holmes was paralyzed as a result of his wounds and succumbed to his injuries 17 years later. Officer William Wurst and Patrolman Donald Aleshire were shot and killed in this incident.
