Description: Lieutenant Hood responded to a call concerning drag racing with emergency lights and siren operating. Lieutenant Hood's patrol car crested a hill and was hit head on by one of the two racing vehicles. An 18-year-old, who died I the accident, was driving the vehicle on the wrong side of the road and traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour when he hit Lieutenant Hood. Lieutenant Hood was rushed to the hospital where he died after seven days.
