Description: On August 3, 2005, Master Deputy Hover was injured while participating in a defensive tactics training class. Another deputy demonstrated a defensive take down maneuver on Deputy Hover which injured his right shoulder. Deputy Hover sustained a chip fracture of the humerus and a rotator cuff injury. Deputy Hover was placed on light duty and was under a doctor’s care. Deputy Hover underwent surgery on his shoulder on September 21, 2005. On October 8, 2005, Deputy Hover died of a pulmonary thromboemboli as a consequence of blunt trauma to the right shoulder.
