Description: Chief Hutson was accidentally shot when a fellow officer's gun fell to the floor and discharged. Officer Hughes was replacing his service weapon in its holster but shoved it into the loop of the scabbard instead. The gun fell to the floor and discharged, striking both Officer Hughes and Chief Hutson. Chief Hutson was struck in the thigh and bled to death. Officer Hughes survived (friendly fire).
